Outline for your Essay; Due Monday; You will turn in you worksheets and typed essay. 2-3 pp. max.

World History Students:  This is a very basic outline.  However, if you follow this structure you will write a well organized, coherent essay.

5 Paragraph Essay:   Creating an Outline

Double spaced; new times roman 12 font; max 2-3 pages

Most analytical, interpretive, or persuasive essays tend to follow the same basic pattern.

If you are writing the first document based essay on Greek and Roman Contributions, remember that you must also include 1-2 examples of your own; examples of these contributions to the USA.

You may also want to group some of the documents together in the same paragraph if their
topic is similar.  REMEMBER to write in your own words.  Essays that copy text from any materials or text books will not be accepted and returned to you.  You will not be able to rewrite an essay that copies text.

I suggest that you organize you paragraphs as follows:  Intro, Greece, Rome, Contrast Greece and Rome focusing on what is better about one country or the other. Conclusion.

I. Introduction

     1. Sentence to get the attention of your readers:
     2. One-sentence thesis statement or argument.

II. Body Paragraphs

          b. Supporting evidence for the first idea:
          c. Supporting evidence for the first idea:

     2. Second main idea:
          a. Supporting evidence for second main idea:
          b. Supporting evidence for second main idea:
          c. Supporting evidence for second main idea:

     3. Third main idea:
          a. Supporting evidence for third main idea:
          b. Supporting evidence for third main idea:

     1. Restatement of your thesis or argument
Review how you proved your thesis/argument.
